We’re the Whitleys, and we’re honored to call this beautiful piece of land both our home and our heritage. The farm has been in our family for generations, first built by our great-grandparents and lovingly passed down ever since. What started as a simple working farm has grown into something much more meaningful.
Over the years, this land has seen harvest seasons, Sunday suppers, and the kind of everyday moments that shape a family. The barn you see today was once a place for storing hay and hosting neighbors. Today, it’s a space where new stories begin.
THROUGH THE YEARS
From working farm to wedding venue, this land has always been a place for connection, celebration, and lasting memories.
1932
The land is purchased by Walter and Louise Whitley, who build the original farmhouse and begin raising crops, animals, and a young family on the property.
1946
The barn is constructed using hand-milled lumber and quickly becomes the heart of the farm, storing hay, sheltering livestock, and serving as a gathering place for neighbors and family alike.
1967
The first wedding takes place under the trees near the barn when the Whitleys’ daughter marries her high school sweetheart. It becomes a treasured family tradition.
1989
The second generation takes over daily operations, continuing to care for the land while raising their own family with the same values of hard work, hospitality, and connection.
2013
The third generation begins taking a more active role in the farm’s future, bringing new vision and fresh ideas while honoring the legacy of those who came before them.
2021
The Whitley family officially launches Hollow & Meadow as a full-service wedding venue, offering a peaceful, personal experience rooted in love, legacy, and family.
2015
The second generation takes over daily operations, continuing to care for the land while raising their own family with the same values of hard work, hospitality, and connection.
